New Jazz Underground (NJU) is a rising jazz trio gaining attention for their innovative blend of traditional jazz with modern influences like hip-hop, Afro-Latino beats, and electronic music. They are known for their dynamic performances, unique sound, and dedication to both honoring the jazz legacy and forging new paths in the genre. They won the DCJazzPrix competition in 2023, which helped them record their debut album at Sear Sound, a renowned New York studio.
